The Slovenian Beekeepers’ Association is inviting beekeepers to participate in the “Best Honey Product 2026” competition, which will take place on Saturday, 19 September 2026, at the Beekeeping Centre Lesce as part of the Honey in Culinary Arts Day.

The competition is intended for innovative products made by combining honey with other foods, such as raspberries, cocoa, pistachios, hazelnuts, walnuts, spices and other ingredients.

The aim is to promote innovative honey-based products and showcase the wider range of products offered by Slovenian beekeepers.

Requirements for participation:

Two jars of each submitted product are required.

The jars must be 212 ml and intended for Slovenian beekeeping products.

One jar must be properly labelled according to current legislation.

The second jar must be completely unlabelled for anonymous judging.

Products must be delivered to the Beekeeping Centre Lesce by Friday, 11 September 2026, on working days between 8:00 and 14:00. A completed application form must be submitted with the products. There is no participation fee. A three-member professional committee will select five finalists. Visitors at the event will then taste the five finalist products and vote for their favourite. The product receiving the most votes will receive the title “Best Honey Product 2026”, with the winner announced at 3:00 PM.

The organisers also state that registration of a food-processing activity is not required for the tasting at the event, because the products are not being sold.

The event is organised by the Slovenian Beekeepers’ Association, the Public Advisory Service for Beekeeping, and the Beekeepers’ Association of Gorenjska.
