Subject: Proposal for Cooperation between the European Beekeeping Association (EBA) and Consumer Organizations in Europe
Dear all,
The European Beekeeping Association (EBA) unites nearly 300,000 beekeepers from 20 European countries. Its primary goal is to protect the consumers from fake bee products and, in doing so, preserve bees and the practice of beekeeping!
The EBA is an organization dedicated to the protection and promotion of beekeeping across Europe and is deeply committed to safeguarding the well-being of bees, beekeepers, and consumers throughout the continent.
Today our bees face unprecedented challenges.Our mission is to:
-Combat the counterfeit honey that has flooded the European market;
-Introduce incentives per beehive as part of the agro-ecological programme;
-Fight against the improper use of chemicals that are harmful to bees.
In recent years, the issue of honey adulteration has become a significant concern, threatening both the livelihood of beekeepers and the trust of consumers. To tackle this growing problem, the EBA proposes strategic cooperation with consumer organizations across Europe to address the challenge of adulterated honey and to promote authentic, high-quality honey to consumers.
To preserve bees and beekeeping, we must immediately put an absolute STOP to all adulterated bee products.At the same time, we must support beekeeping and agriculture by purchasing local bee products, which have been proven to be most beneficial to our health!
The European Beekeeping Association believes that by partnering with consumer organizations across Europe, we can effectively combat the issue of honey adulteration. We need your support and cooperation in this extremely demanding effort.
Together, we can protect both consumers and beekeepers, promote high-quality honey, and ensure the sustainability of beekeeping as a vital agricultural practice.
We invite consumer organizations to join us in this critical mission to preserve the integrity of the honey market and protect the interests of all European consumers.
Thank you for considering our invitation. We look forward to the opportunity of working together to secure a brighter future for bees, beekeepers, and consumers across Europe.
Best regards,
