The European Beekeeping Association (EBA) is pleased to invite qualified experts and professionals to apply for membership in the Working Group on European Beekeeping Policy and Legislation.

The purpose of this Working Group is to provide a comprehensive, systematic approach to monitoring, analyzing, and contributing to the development of both the legislative framework and policy measures affecting beekeeping across Europe. This includes EU and national legislation, as well as European Union agricultural policies, including the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), which influence subsidies, rural development programs, and other measures impacting the beekeeping sector.

The Working Group will:

  • Identify gaps, inconsistencies, and opportunities for improvement in legislation and policy affecting beekeepers;
  • Develop evidence-based analyses and formulate professional recommendations for amendments, harmonization, and policy adjustments;
  • Support EBA advocacy with Members of the European Parliament, national parliaments, and relevant institutions to ensure that the interests of beekeepers are properly reflected in legislation and policy initiatives;
  • Promote sustainable development, market protection, and improved conditions for beekeepers throughout Europe.

The EBA welcomes applications from legal experts, policy specialists, agricultural economists, researchers, representatives of beekeeping associations, and other professionals with relevant expertise in European and national legislation, CAP and agricultural policy, food regulation, or governance related to the beekeeping sector.

If you are interested in contributing to this important initiative, we kindly invite you to submit a brief application (maximum 300 words) to eba@ebaeurope.eu. Please include a statement of motivation, your area of expertise, and relevant professional or academic references.

Deadline for candidates to submit documentation March 1th.2026.

We look forward to advancing European beekeeping policy and legislation through expert collaboration.
