The European Beekeeping Association (EBA) has officially sent a letter
to the Members of the European Parliament, urging them to maintain the
special beekeeping envelope within the new Common Agricultural Policy for 2028–2034.
In the letter, signed by EBA President Boštjan Noč, the EBA emphasized the critical role of bees and beekeepers.
We are pleased to share that EBA has received a positive response from
Mr. Thomas Waitz, Member of the European Parliament and a beekeeper
himself, through his office:
“As a beekeeper himself, Mr. Waitz will of course do everything in his
power to support beekeepers in Europe and will defend them during the
negotiations on the new CAP.”
The European Beekeeping Association sincerely thanks Mr. Waitz for his
support and solidarity. His commitment reinforces the vital importance of protecting real honey, supporting beekeepers, and safeguarding the pollination services that are essential for biodiversity and Europe’s food security.
