On 31 August, the EBA submitted the documentation sent to the European
Commission to Commissioner Hansen for review.
At that time, we stressed in a letter to the Commissioner that the
documentation Prepared by the EBA Scientific Committee on the Safety
and Quality of Bee Products, and endorsed by over 55 beekeeping
organizations from 30 countries, the letter identifies critical gaps
in the current regulatory framework that enable honey fraud to
persist—undermining both consumer trust and the livelihoods of honest
producers.
We are submitting the response that the EBA received from Commissioner
Hansen for review.
We thank Commissioner Hansen for his overall support in the fight for
bees, beekeepers and consumers in Europe.
